Marcos has been actively involved in the landscape, irrigation and water conservation industries since the early 90’s. He has worked almost every aspect and facet within each of those industries, including irrigation design, landscape construction, instructor, technical advisor, project manager and business owner.
Marcos graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Irrigation Science and a minor in Horticulture. He studied irrigation design and hydraulics under Dr. Joe Hung, who is revered for his many contributions to the irrigation industry. Mr. Quezada continues to be active at Cal Poly Pomona as a member of the advisory council to the Center for Turf, Irrigation, and Landscape Technology (CTILT).
Mr. Quezada started his career in water conservation in 1997 as an instructor and technical advisor for the conservation team at Metropolitan Water District. In 1999, Mr. Quezada became an authorized instructor for the Irrigation Association, for whom he was able to teach throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
In 2001, Marcos co-founded WaterWise Consulting, Inc. to provide water conservation services, including irrigation audits, commercial audits, residential water surveys, landscape workshops, and other related services. WaterWise is now considered an established institution within the water conservation community in California. Marcos served as President and Technical Advisor from 2001 to 2012. Mr. Quezada continues to be active on the Board of Directors for WaterWise.
Marcos founded EcoTech Services, Inc. in 2012 and has been serving as President since the beginning. EcoTech specializes in helping sites improve water-use efficiency through the retrofit of plumbing fixtures and irrigation equipment, as well as through landscape renovations. EcoTech has expanded from two staff members to a total of nineteen employees in three years.
